Tutoring begins, I recieve my first request via e-mail…

“i was giving your card for tutoring and wanted to know if we could meet today or tommorrow to meet so i could get help with my homework thanks”

Standard enough… my reply…

> i was giving your card for tutoring and wanted to know if we could meet
> today or tommorrow to meet so i could get help with my homework thanks
>
>Sure…I won’t be available for the rest of today. Tomorrow (tuesday), I’ll be
available before 1:15 and between 4:15 and 7:00. Let me know what time is
good for you. I hold my sessions in the CIW library.

The reply to this is mind boggling.

I hope to God that “2pm” is a typo, otherwise there is no hope.

Check out this equation of disaster…

Description $$$
First pay check from winter break internship ~$400
Meal Plan Reactivation ($340)
Books ($375.29)
Existing Credit Card Balance (from Christmas mostly) ($433.57)
Second (final) pay check from internship ~$468.00

Crap. I’m gonna have to do a SHITLOAD of tutoring to make this up.

Random Story (it contains violence, so it’s gotta be good!)

Sunday, January 23rd, 2005

So, in 6th grade, I knew this girl who was in my band class. She played the Alto Saxophone (as did I), which was odd, since most girls played the flute or clarinet. But anyways, this girl was obviously the popular type. So her talking to me at all was kinda odd, and, as a huge introvert, I was very nervous talking to popular and pretty girls such as this girl.

One day, while we were putting our instruments away, she asks me to get angry at her, and to hit her. Now, mind you, this was out of nowhere, and for anyone that knows my general disposition, I wasn’t about to lay a hand on her even in jest, because that’s something I just don’t do. But she was really pressing the issue. So, after about 30 seconds of bothering me while I was putting my Alto Sax in the case (and putting the sax in the locker), I shover her against the locker. She then shuts up, seemingly satisfied.

We were on friendly terms for the remainder of middle school. It was kinda odd how that started. It’s just one of those ironies of life. It’s probably the only situation where it can be said, in complete truth that “yes, she really was asking for it.”

And for anyone who went to Middle School or High School with me, you may ask me which girl this was.

(P.S. don’t ask why I decided to share this. It really is random.)
