If you’re on the fence about seeing Transformers,  you have to know what to expect and what not to expect.  What you should expect is cars, trucks, jets and other machines transforming into giant human-like robots whose only job is to kick ass.  You should also expect slapstick, situational and bodily-function humor.  What you should not expect is a sophisticated plot or Academy-quality acting.  I’m not saying the acting wasn’t good; it was very-much adequate.  But this is an action movie based off an 80’s cartoon, and there are only a few things needed to make this movie good, and they pretty much nailed it.

Awesome fight scenes involving giant robots that turn into other things and destroy stuff? Check. Hot chick? Check (She’s married to Brian Austin Green? Fuck. That.) Hugo Weaving? Shit yes.  Comic relief? Check.  And finally… Bernie Mac cameo? Check.

See this movie. You’ll be a better person for it.

It’s got scary parts, it’s got funny parts, it’s got the mile-high club (with one of the prospective members having very nice boobies), and it’s got Samuel L. Jackson and Kenan Thompson in it.

Honestly… you’ll all be better people for seeing this movie.

I am hard pressed to find a more quotable comedy than Dodgeball. I could post every quote I like, but that would be a long, boring read. Instead, I direct you to IMDB’s page of quotes in the movie. There is one quote which is missing which I think should be on there…

The movie was awesome, fantastic, and all those other adjectives that mean “OH FUCK YES.” Let me tell you why this movie was awesome. First, I love the protagonists. Hugo Weaving is fucking awesome YET AGAIN (fucking hell… Agent Smith… Elrond, now this? This guy can do no wrong), I love the main characters (enlightened, learned and intelligent are qualities that I highly respect and appreciate in protagonists) and especially Natalie Portman. Oh Natalie… :heart:

Second, well… there’s much ass-kickey. Third… well… there is no third one. So I’ll just say Natalie Portman again.

OMG.

I implore everyone who reads this to see this movie. Cartoonishly hilarious and gratutitous, excessive, over-the-top violence. Uma Thurman with a sword. Kicking ass, decapitating multiple body parts all over the place.

Greatness.

Anyone friends want to see it, I’M PERFECT WILLING TO SEE IT AGAIN. IT’S THAT GOOD.
