Easy Game is Easy

After months of online poker inactivity, I jump into a $11 single table Sit ‘n Go on Full Tilt.

He hits his 3-outer, I hit my 1-outer re-suck for the win, sometimes abbreviated FTW.I once thought those letters meant "FUCK THE WORLD" and wondered why people who won all the time were always angry.

Coin flip pre-flop, top pair on the flop, all gravy from there.

Full Tilt won't give me my 2nd lifetime Royal Flush though.

Full Tilt won’t give my my second lifetime Royal Flush though.

Had it not been for the river, I would've busted the last guy and taken 1st place ($45)

Had it not been for the river, I would've won 1st place ($45) instead of splitting the pot.

I go on to lose, partly because I lost patience 30 hands later and pushed into the nuts.  $27 ain’t too bad though.

What are the odds of this?

I’m sure I can figure it out, but I’m just speaking rhetorically.

Aces vs. Aces

I hate Razz

Friday, January 12th, 2007

For those who’ve never played the game, Razz is played exactly like 7-card Stud, except it’s the lowest poker hand that wins and not the highest.

So, of course, when I play Razz, this happens to me. (click to enlarge).

Unable to Connect to Server

Hello…

I just downloaded the FullTiltPoker program. It installed successfully, but when starting up the program, it reports “Sorry, Unable to Connect to Server.” I checked the server status on fulltiltpoker.com and they seemed to be operational. Please advise.

Joe

Perhaps I should’ve mentioned that I was looking to register, but it just seems like whomever saw my e-mail saw my e-mail address did not belong to a registered user and decided to kick back a form letter without even reading my e-mail. I replied back saying that I wasn’t a registered user and still need assistance, at which point I did get assistance.

It’s fun being on the other side of tech support.

Newsday story (link will expire in 7-or-so days)

I guess I’m not going there for my poker needs… ::shifty eyes::

Not like I ever did previously, I’m just saying… you know… if I ever felt the need to gamble… I won’t be going there to do it… ::shifty eyes::

Stupid Poker Players

Thursday, September 29th, 2005

Played on PartyPoker last night… I play $.5/$1 Limit Hold ‘Em. I get dealt A3 offsuit as the BB in a 6 handed game. Only one raiser, I call. Flop is T J K rainbow. So I have an inside straight draw. He bets, I call. In No Limit, I’d just fold with an inside straight draw, but in Limit poker, I can call one bet if it’s the flop. Since the bet doubles on the turn, if I don’t have a hand by then, I’ll usually fold it. Turn is a queen. I make my straight! More importantly, it’s the nut straight, meaning it can’t be beat; only tied. I bet, he raises, I re-raise, he caps, I call. I wonder what he could have. Trips? An ace? I have all hands beat at this point, so my play is a no-brainer. River is a 3, pairs my hand but it’s useless since I already made a straight. Pot gets capped again, he reveals pocket 9s.

What made his play bad? When the pot got capped on the turn, he should have suspected he was beat. He shouldn’t have capped the pot on the river. He lost $3 more than he should have.

I  dumb poker players.
